Korean Air has provided and transported relief goods to those affected by the earthquake in Kumamoto, Japan. The emergency supplies, including 36,000 liters of mineral water, were loaded onto Korean Air’s flight KE787, which departed on 20 April from South Korea’s Incheon Airport bound for Fukuoka on Japan’s Kyushu Island.

Last week’s 7.0 magnitude earthquake caused significant damage in and around the Japanese city of Kumamoto, leaving more than 200,000 victims injured and displaced from their homes. The victims of the earthquake are facing serious shortages of water, food, clothing and other daily essentials.

As a leading global carrier, Korean Air has a strong commitment to supporting relief efforts in times of need. Korean Air also carried out humanitarian aid following the devastation caused by cyclone “Winston” in Fiji last month and in 2015 donated relief supplies to those affected by the earthquake in Kathmandu, Nepal.
