ST Aerospace, the Singapore-based leading aircraft maintenance and modification company, and Guangzhou Airport Authority, celebrated today 50 aircraft redeliveries from its Guangzhou airframe maintenance facility, to AirAsia.
The first aircraft was inducted into ST Aerospace’s Guangzhou-based hangar in January 2015, for C-level checks. This was followed by a steady stream of AirAsia’s A320 through the one and a half years, with the 50th aircraft redelivered to AirAsia’s revenue fleet today.
“The successful milestone redelivery of 50 aircraft from maintenance, within 78 weeks, speaks of the strong commitment by the JV partners to establish a robust maintenance capability for our customer, tapping on ST Aerospace’s engineering pedigree and the Guangzhou Airport Authority’s support”, said Ang Chye Kiat, executive VP, Aircraft Maintenance and Modification of ST Aerospace.
Operating out of the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport since March 2014, ST Aerospace (Guangzhou) Aviation Services is a 49:51 joint venture between ST Aerospace and Guangdong Airport Authority. Marketed as part of ST Aerospace’s global network, the Guangzhou-based facility focuses on commercial airframe maintenance and modification services for a wide range of Airbus and Boeing aircraft. It is presently supporting close to 15 customers across the continents, for various airframe maintenance
work.
