Jettainer, a leading international service partner for outsourced ULD-management, has added a new base location to its JettLease network with Leipzig/Halle Airport. Following the establishment of this base, freight containers and pallets, will be available at Germany’s second largest airfreight hub. Airlines can lease them for periods ranging from one day to several months, if necessary at very short notice.
“Leipzig/Halle Airport complements our existing network of JettLease stations in an ideal manner. With the expansion, we are responding to the growing demand for flexible loading equipment solutions at times of peak demand or for ad hoc operations. At the same time, we are working with our local partners to achieve greater customer proximity and improve our services,” Carsten Hernig, CEO of Jettainer GmbH, said about the launch of the partnership.
“The JettLease station is an asset for our air freight hub. Our airline customers will profit from the immediate availability of a range of both short-notice and flexible loading equipment solutions,” Bettina Ganghofer, Special Representative of the Board Air Cargo at Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG, emphasised.
In addition to standard containers, special loading equipment will be kept on hand. These include units for the transport of horses and car racks used in the shipment of vehicles. The other JettLease hubs are located in Frankfurt, Chicago and Hong Kong.
Service is available worldwide and around the clock through regional hotlines and a central JettLease website. The base product includes the receipt and return of ULDs within the JettLease network. In addition to the base stations, ULDs can optionally be leased and/or returned at any other location.
Flughafen Leipzig/Halle GmbH is a subsidiary of Mitteldeutsche Flughafen AG. The airport handled 988,240 tonnes of air freight in 2015 making it Germany’s second-largest freight airport.
