For the fourth time, Cargolux Airlines was honored with The STAT Times’ International Award for Excellence in Air Cargo in the category International All Cargo Carrier of the Year in Africa at the Air Cargo Africa 2017 conference in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The award was accepted on behalf of the airline by Jonathan Clark, Cargolux Regional Director Africa, at the Gala Award Night on 22 February at the Barnyard Theatre, Johannesburg. Cargolux was selected from a group of nominees by the readers of The STAT Times in two rounds of online voting.
‘We are proud to be honored by The STAT Times and our peers in the industry and appreciate the recognition that our customer dedication in Africa receives,’ Clark states. ‘Africa remains an important market for Cargolux and we are happy to be able to support the continent’s trade lanes to Europe, the United States and Asia as well as across the Cargolux network worldwide. Our thanks also go to The STAT Times for making this popular conference happen, a very beneficial event and well organized.’
The extensive Cargolux network in Africa has a long-standing history and the company enjoys the continued loyalty and support of forwarders and shippers in this market. The carrier is a proven expert in a range of diverse shipments, from perishables, fruit and flowers to heavy machinery for the oil and gas industry on the continent.
‘The fact that we can accept our fourth award in this category already is not only a proud moment for Cargolux, it is also a gratifying appreciation by our customers of our efforts and the attention we dedicate to our African service,’ Clark notes during the award ceremony.
The Award function is organized in connection with the biennial Air Cargo Africa 2017 event at the Emperor’s Palace in Johannesburg between 21 and 23 February. It enables major industry players to present their services, to discuss opportunities and to forge new partnerships.
