IAG Cargo has appointed Lewis Girdwood as chief financial officer from March 2017. Girdwood joins the business from EasyJet, where he was head of financial planning and analysis. With over 25 years of financial experience, Girdwood joins the IAG Cargo leadership team and will play a key role in delivering the carrier’s business strategy.
During his seven years at EasyJet Girdwood successfully delivered a number of business critical projects, including the 2013 fleet acquisition of the next generation airbus NEOs, enabling EasyJet to grow scale and become the UK’s largest airline. His role at IAG Cargo will focus on driving the business to achieve its financial and related targets, ensuring compliance with all corporate governance requiremestomer proposition. IAG Cargo is the single business created following the merger of British Airways World Cargo and Iberia Cargo in April 2011. Following the integration of additional airlines into the business, including Aer Lingus, Vueling and bmi, IAG Cargo now covers a network of over 350 destinations.
