As of March 2017, Air France KLM Martinair (AFKLMP) Cargo started operating its new summer schedule. With a fleet of 170 long-haul passenger aircraft’s and six full freighters, the group is able to offer vast capacity on around 1,125 weekly services to 127 destinations across a global network.
Just as they did last winter, AFKLMP have once more extended their wide-body belly network, and announced the start of operations to five new destinations:
- From Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) a thrice weekly service to Accra (ACC) – Ghana using Boeing 777-200 equipment
- From Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS) opening new routes to Freetown (FNA) – Sierra Leone and Monrovia (ROB) – Liberia, both thrice weekly using Airbus A330 equipment, to Cartagena (CTG) – Colombia, also thrice weekly, using Boeing 787 Dreamliner equipment and to Minneapolis (MSP) – USA, thrice weekly on an Airbus A330.
In addition to wide-body belly capacity, they will continue to offer main-deck capacity (123 frequencies/week to 41 destinations), using Boeing 747-combi and freighter aircraft out of Amsterdam, and Boeing 777 freighter services out of Paris Charles de Gaulle. AF-KL-MP will continue to mainly deploy cargo aircraft on routes between Europe and Latin America and to/from Africa, to serve ongoing strong demand (e.g. from the fresh flower industry) for this type of transport.
