Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) – Hong Kong’s independent cargo handler – has scooped the “Air Cargo Handling Agent of the Year” award at the latest World Air Cargo Awards. It is the fifth time Hactl has won the award in the eleven years of the competition. Hactl’s selection for the award was based on online voting by readers of Air Cargo Week.
Hactl Executive Director Vivien Lau received the award from Robert Fordree, Head of Cargo Operations, Etihad Airways, at a glittering gala event in Munich, which was the highlight of the Air Cargo Europe exhibition and conference. Around 500 guests from all over the world attended the presentation ceremony.
Speaking after the event, Vivien Lau said: “It is a great honour to receive this award once again, and we sincerely thank all those who supported Hactl with their votes.
“This accolade rewards Hactl’s constant pursuit of service excellence, and its unending drive for improvement through innovation. It further strengthens our determination to continue setting standards and leading best practice throughout the cargo handling sector.”
Launched in 1976, Hong Kong’s largest independent cargo handler, serves more than 100 airline companies and 1,000 freight forwarders. Its base, SuperTerminal 1, is Hong Kong’s largest cargo handling facility, with an annual design capacity of 3.5 million tonnes.
