At the recent FIATA Headquarter Session, during the Meeting of the Multimodal Transport Institute, Mrs Eva Molnar of UNECE was rewarded by FIATA, when Mr Robert Keen UK submitted the fellow’s certificate.
Molnar pointed out in her presentation that transportation is going through a fundamental change to make people’s and freight’s mobility safe, clean, secure and efficient. There are three main drivers for this extensive transformation:
- The big political commitment for change which includes 2030 sustainable development agenda agreement (Increased attention to climate change mitigation and adaptation).
- The Megatrends with its geopolitical changes (e.g. BREXIT); as well as the massive trend of political and fiscal decentralisation from the national governments to the mega cities.
- Modern technologies are so transformative that they not only modify one sector, but they convert a sector into another, which will have an impact of the location of the manufactures and therefore also for the freight forwarding industry.
Mr Keen emphasised that Eva Molnar had demonstrated “extraordinary commitment and effectiveness as a Director of UNECE Transport Section, with persistent efforts to provide the transport industry with new concepts and solution in order to improve our metier and services.”
“FIATA, sincerely appreciate your hard work and dedication in favour of logistics in general and FIATA in particular.” Thus the title of ‘FIATA FELLOW’ was bestowed on Eva Molnar. “It has been an honour for us to be your colleague in these years and we have all benefited from your wit and wisdom. We wish you all possible satisfaction in the next steps of your rewarding career and life”, said Robert Keen on delivering the recognition to Eva Molnar in Zurich on behalf of the Extended Board of FIATA.
