Connect Cargo, network member in India, has transported by air a Bjaj Dominar 400 motorbike from Mumbai airport in India to Moscow, Russia. The objective was to deliver it on time for exhibiting at Motorspring Moscow 2017, international fair for outdoor vehicles.
The operation’s difficulty was accentuated because the request was received with a very tight timing, during the weekend prior to the exhibition, that took place at the end of April in the Russian capital. Connect Cargo deployed its team in the airport to offer all the necessary in site assistance and by this way, assure the express departure of the motorbike, properly accommodated and secured in its crate. The shipment was routed via Dubai with a major carrier and finally, the motorbike arrived in Moscow the next day. The customer was able to arrange customs clearance on time and happily exhibit its new motorbike.
“This is the last air freight shipment of a motorbike handled by a Pangea member. Several members have recently informed us of similar shipments, proving their capacities in managing this type of services, that require great sophistication in planning and executing”, has commented Sarah Bidmead, Network Manager at Pangea Logistics Networks.
Harley Davidson Air Shipment from Uruguay to Panama
This is another air freight shipment of a Harley Davidson motorbike, that after travelling around South America on the road arrived in Uruguay, from where it was setting out its final journey to Panama. This shipment counted on the collaboration of Miremar, Pangea member in Uruguay, who perfectly coordinated with the Pangea Partner in Panama, Asap Panama.
Miremar prepared the shipment securing the motorbike inside an individual crate, protected and built to its exact measurements. An appropriate base for the wheels, tensioned strap banding, foam protection of interior parts and top cover are some of the security measures taken with this crate, that was also protected on the outside.
Of course, they handled the preparation of all documents and procedures that the Uruguayan customs required, as well as authorizations from the airline, that consider the cargo as dangerous goods. So, Miremar left the crate with the Harley Davidson ready to travel from Montevideo International Airport to Panama, with an Avianca Cargo flight. The reception of the bike was carried out by Asap Panama in Tocumen International Airport, in perfect accordance to all importation regulations.
