Airborne Maintenance & Engineering Services (AMES), a subsidiary of Air Transport Services Group, Inc, announced the appointment of Ben Ward as General Manager of its PEMCO World Air Services division.
Ward brings over 30 years of experience to his new role. Most recently he served as PEMCO’s Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining the company, Ben held numerous accounting and financial positions at KPMG, as well as CFO at Berkline/BenchCraft and Imperial Group, L.P.
“I am confident Ben is the right leader to continue the long-running success of the maintenance and conversion operations in Tampa,” said AMES President Brady Templeton.
AMES acquired Tampa-based PEMCO in January 2017. PEMCO is the global leader in narrow-body passenger-to-freighter aircraft conversions, having developed over 70 STCs and modified over 350 aircraft. PEMCO’s 60-plus customers select the company’s passenger-to-freighter conversion for its superior cargo door and system, superior operating functions, on-time turnaround, and a track record of 2 million hours of safe, reliable operation.
AMES is a one-stop aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) provider that operates nearly a half-million square feet of hangar and component repair/overhaul facilities in Wilmington, Ohio, plus an additional 340,000 sq. ft. through PEMCO World Air Services in Tampa, FL, as well as line maintenance operations in Cincinnati, OH, and Miami, FL.
