Lufthansa Cargo has launched liveSensor, an optional tracking service that allows cargo airline customers to keep an eye on their shipments over the course of the entire transport route in real time.
liveSensor can also be used to determine where a shipment is and whether transport conditions agreed are complied with. Th e tracking device also detects factors such as temperature, humidity, and pressure, and also records data such as alignment and vibration. Light sensors determine whether and when a shipment has been opened, which serves as protection against theft. Cargo shipments can now be traced more precisely- especially useful for customers with sensitive or valuable goods.
Lufthansa Cargo is also providing a fl at-fee service that covers all the logistics relating to the tracking devices: Delivery and collection of the device at the destination are included in the service. The linked tracking portal allows customers to apply user-defined settings, such as the modality of status messages or adjustments to temperature ranges. Virtual geographic boundaries, or geofences, can also be defined. Th is means that specific information is available in the event of damage or loss to a shipment. The tracking portal allows round-the-clock access to the data via a user-friendly web portal.
