Hermes, the consumer delivery specialist, is celebrating after being re-certified to the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards. These three renowned standards recognise the effectiveness of the organisation’s quality management, environmental management and occupational health and safety management systems.
This is the third time the company has achieved the standards after first securing the certifications six years ago. The latest certification is valid for a further three years. Following an independent assessment by Intertek, a leading global Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, Hermes was recognised for its exceptional standards, receiving zero major non-conformances.
Hermes’ UK headquarters is located in Morley whilst the company also operates an extensive and sophisticated network of hubs and depots. This latest certification to the standards represents the first time that the organisation’s head office, which is home to more than 600 employees, has been included in the process. Over the past four years, the number of certified Hermes sites has risen from 13 to 24.
Stuart Crockford, head of Health, Safety & Standards, said: “We are incredibly proud to secure these certifications that underpin and support our strategy for future growth. Whether you are a new employee, an existing customer or a potential client, these certifications will provide the confidence that our business operates in accordance to a number of internationally recognised standards for health & safety, environment and quality management.”
Lucie Janicatova, general manager, Business Assurance, Intertek, added: “We would like to congratulate Hermes on the re-certification of these three standards. This fantastic achievement is the result of hard work and ongoing investment. We look forward to working together as the company further expands its network over the coming years.”
