Worldwide Flight Services’ (WFS) cargo handling contract with Qatar Airways Cargo at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport has been extended.
In addition to managing an existing cargo handling contract, WFS is now providing ramp transportation for the airline, moving cargo to and from the warehouse and the aircraft operating Qatar Airways’ three flights a day from Paris to Doha.
This follows EVA Air’s decision to extend its contract with WFS in Paris to also include ramp transportation as well as cargo handling. The airline operates a daily flight from Paris CDG to Taipei.
WFS is the largest cargo handler at Paris CDG and serves over 150 airlines. In 2017, it saw volumes handled at the airport rise by more than 10% compared to the previous year.
Stéphane Scholving, WFS’ Director of Cargo Sales Europe, said: “It is always especially pleasing when major airline customers decide you award you responsibility for their whole chain from acceptance of cargo to delivery to the aircraft side. Qatar Airways and EVA Air have shown this commitment to WFS in Paris and by taking control of their end-to-end services, we are confident of delivering important service quality benefits to both airlines and their customers.”
Founded in 1971 and headquartered in Paris, WFS is the world’s largest air cargo handler and one of the leading providers of ground handling and technical services with annual revenues of over EUR1 billion. Its 18,000 employees serve over 300 airlines at 195 major airports in 21 countries on five continents.
