In a partnership that would accelerate digitalisation in the air cargo industry, IT provider CHAMP Cargosystems has selected Google Cloud to provide an API platform and developer self-service portal option to all its software-as-a-Service (SaaS) customers, according to a press release. The platform’s self-service capabilities will allow airlines to easily connect with customers without using any messaging or bespoke interfaces.
Google Cloud’s Apigee API management portal will allow CHAMP and its customers to quickly connect to a variety of backend systems, including in-house and third-party apps and marketplace portals.
It comes with industry standard security implementations for each API and provides secure analysis of how APIs are being consumed by CHAMP’s customers, enabling CHAMP to understand future requirements and better serve its clients with further relevant APIs in future.
Furthermore, CHAMP has published its internal low-level APIs via Apigee, giving developers access to take advantage of API orchestration to invent new use cases, without any implementation in the backend.
CHAMP says its customers want solutions that can quickly scale up with their growth and meet their complex localisation needs.
Portugal’s TAP Air Cargo earlier implemented CHAMP API to improve its internal business processes, tracking, and synchronization of its supply chain, with the solution implemented in less than a week.
