SAS Cargo signed an agreement with Danish pharma giant Novo Nordisk to secure the transport of life-saving medicines, a press release announced.
The story of both Scandinavian companies has been a longstanding relationship which started at the end of the 1960s when the pharma company tapped on the cargo carrier to transport insulin and enzymes.
SAS Cargo said its CEIV certification guarantees the highest standards in handling the most sensitive shipments.
“Being based in one of Europe’s strongest life-science clusters, Medicon Valley, has enabled us to gain extensive experience of transporting time- and temperature–sensitive products. It’s a great acknowledgement to have one of the largest pharma companies in the world entering an agreement for continuous transport of their most precious shipments,” said Leif Rasmussen, President & CEO of SAS Cargo.
SAS Cargo continues to lead IATA’s air freight quality rankings after maintaining the frontrunner position based on Cargo iQ’s benchmark and standards and IATA’s Customer Promise Performance Index.
Underscoring its sustainability agenda, the cargo carrier recently invested in an A350 fleet, complementing Novo Nordisk’s ambitious programme to achieve zero environmental impact.
