Volga-Dnepr Airlines delivered high-voltage equipment to complete the construction of a 450MW solar power plant in Tuon Nam, Vietnam, stated a press release.
An An-124-100 carrying 30 tonnes of cargo departed Mumbai for Vietnam but had to change routes three times due to the runway repair works in Saigon and restrictive quarantine measures in Da Nang.
The charter flight was organised in partnership with Bee Logistics Corporation, the release noted.
The cargo plane eventually landed on the airport of Cam Ranh after Volga-Dnepr worked out flight approval and immigration procedures, marking the first time the local airport handled an An-124-100.
“The coronavirus and pandemic are affecting all industries, including the development of important projects in wind and solar energy. While some of these projects in the Asia-Pacific region are threatened by restrictive measures, the construction of the solar power plant in Tuon Nam has been completed thanks to the well-coordinated work of all participants in the supply chain and the contribution of our team,” said Ekaterina Andreeva, commercial director of Volga-Dnepr Airlines.
