Aerospace manufacturer Pratt & Whitney, a division of Raytheon Technologies, launched an enhanced website to showcase the GTF engine family.
Pratt & Whitney’s growing maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) network can access the site’s new digital features, including an engine spotter’s guide, a multimedia gallery and an interactive route map highlighting the engine’s game-changing benefits.
Pratt & Whitney estimates that its GTF engines have collectively saved customers nearly 350 million gallons of fuel, whilst avoiding over 3 million metric tonnes of carbon emissions.
The aerospace manufacturer said more than 750 GTF-powered aircraft have been delivered to 48 airlines to date.
In related news, IndiGo recently completed the mandatory replacement of old twin engines with GTF engines in its A320neo fleet, according to Indian newspaper Mint.
India’s aviation regulator had requested IndiGo and GoAir in October last year to undergo engine upgrades, following a series of mishaps with the old Pratt & Whitney engines powering A320neo planes.
A Pratt & Whitney India spokesperson said the old engines on IndiGo’s fleet have been completely upgraded, whilst they are working with GoAir to schedule the remaining few.
IndiGo has 106 A320neo planes, whilst GoAir has 46 of such in its fleet, powered by Pratt & Whitney’s engines.
