He served as EVP for corporate incubations and led the development of new business models outside the company’s core business.
Aramex’s new COO also held the EVP post for strategy and business development at DHL’s post, e-commerce and parcel division, as well as CEO positions across the company’s e-commerce and global mail divisions. Prior to that, he was amongst senior leadership in Monitor Deloitte and BMW Group.
Bashar Obeid, CEO of Aramex, commented, “I strongly believe that his wealth of experience and proven track record of entrepreneurial leadership, commercial acumen, and unparalleled client management will be instrumental in successfully executing our strategic vision.”
“Thomas complements our strong people and performance-driven culture and will build on our continued success, driving Aramex’s position as a leading industry player in its core markets,” he added.
Witnessing a surge in e-commerce activity from increased online shopping during coronavirus-related lockdowns, Aramex said it ramped up on its recruitment, as well as investments in expanding its fleet, warehousing facilities, and related infrastructure.
