Cargo Human Care was founded by Lufthansa Cargo in 2017 to give people in Kenya access to education and medical care.
As part of the cargo carrier’s commitment to the UN’s 17 sustainable development goals, the support has now been visualised again on the latest freighter in the Lufthansa’s fleet.
In cooperation with Lufthansa Technik, Lufthansa Cargo’s latest Boeing 777–F with registration D-ALFI was given a special livery with the Cargo Human Care logo and the slogan “Step by step. Giving children a future.“
A mural of Kenyan children from the orphanage “Mothers’ Mercy Home,“ drawn by Cargo Human Care’s founding member’ Franka Doyen, can also be seen from the modern cargo aircraft.
“Social commitment has always been part of Lufthansa Cargo’s DNA. With the new motifs on the freighter, we are not only continuing our commitment to support Cargo Human Care, but also the United Nations’ sustainable development goal ‘No Poverty’,” explained Lufthansa Cargo’s chief operations officer Harald Gloy.
Cargo Human Care runs a medical centre, two primary schools, a youth centre and a training workshop for leatherworkers.
Back in 2015, Lufthansa Cargo’s MD-11F with registration D-ALCH, bearing the same “¡Buenos días México!” as the Boeing 777-F registered D-ALFI, donned a special livery for the aid organisation. The aircraft was retired in March as part of the carrier’s move to a more efficient freighter fleet, the carrier noted.
The latest Boeing 777 freighter in Lufthansa Cargo’s fleet saw its first trip on flight number LH8472 to Chennai commencing during the weekend.
