Bolloré Logistics, one of the world’s top transport and logistics companies, was recently welcomed by Pharma.Aero as its 44th full member.
“Pharma.Aero continues to expand its global network and we welcome Bolloré Logistics into the membership,” said Nathan De Valck, chairman of Pharma.Aero.
“It allows us to further improve the air transportation and handling of pharmaceutical and vaccine shipments by creating awareness and focusing on global collaboration within the air cargo industry,” he added.
“Bolloré Logistics is aware about the importance of supply chain collaboration and required efficiencies to ensure the global distribution of the Healthcare Industry” said Brice Bellin, head of healthcare & life science for Europe, and Netka Hohlfeld, healthcare director Germany & Central Europe at Bollore Logistics.
“We see it as our duty to be tier-one supply chain partner as one of the world’s top 10 transport and logistics groups, with the largest integrated logistics network in Africa.
“It’s an honor to be a part of a common approach which will improve compliance, quality, recognize and mitigate risks, and increase stakeholders visibility in this complex pharma industry, more particularly for the supply of vaccines in the health context that we are currently experiencing,” the executives added.
Bolloré Logistics is taking a step forward with the creation of cross-functional communities tasked with coordinating innovation road maps for several areas identified by the B.Lab, an organisation system designed to support initiatives in supply chain visibility, flows optimization, supply chain sustainability, warehouse automation and operational excellence.
This approach is supported by an innovation team responsible for co-creating proofs of concept with customers and partners, aiming to demonstrate the feasibility of a procedure or innovation based on new technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, machine learning and image recognition.
“Innovation has been written into the Group’s DNA for nearly 200 years and is also central to the strategy of Bolloré Logistics,” said Thierry Ehrenbogen, CEO of Bolloré Logistics.
“The new organization structure will serve to accelerate our digital transformation aimed at bringing our customers value-creating, reliable and flexible solutions,” he added.
Amidst digital transformation challenges and the issue of resilience given the health crisis, B.Lab seeks to design robust, agile and sustainable solutions devised and developed at the two centres in Paris and Singapore, the company added.
