Dimerco delivered oversized cargo loaded with product line equipment from Guangzhou to Lahore, Pakistan within a tight five-day timescale after making a quick decision to use air charter service.
Three sets of product line equipment, weighing almost over 90 tonnes (91,577 kilos), were required by a leading telecoms client in time for the planned opening of its new plant in Lahore, but with no final details until after the holiday break, Dimerco advised that an air charter would provide the best solution.

The logistics provider explained product line equipment requires inspection for air transport, and part of its service included liaising with the relevant inspection institute, as well as coordinating local low-bed trucking and air transportation with chosen partners to provide seamless shipping from pickup to destination.
The project included instructing an experienced palletisation company to load the cargo to fit a B777F, controlling all necessary documentation and ongoing communication with all parties throughout the entire process.
“Most airlines providing a service to Pakistan offer a route to Karachi rather than Lahore, but clearly this would have been less convenient for our client, creating a longer transit time with higher costs,” a spokesperson on behalf of Dimerco commented.
“It would also have meant a delay in the client’s new plant becoming operational, incurring costly lost production time.”
Dimerco had to identify an air carrier that can handle transport on the optimized route from Guangzhou to Lahore, which from the photo looks like Qatar Airways Cargo.
“Few logistics providers would have been able to coordinate a project of this complexity within such a short time-frame, delivering on time and in budget,” the spokesperson added.
