Infrastructure investment firm Ventus LLC and Singapore company Sky Logistica have acquired Prague-based Skyport a.s., a central European air cargo infrastructure company.
Skyport is the leading cargo handler at Prague Airport in the Czech Republic and has operations in Bratislava and Košice, in Slovakia. Skyport operates in a modern semi-automated airside facility and processes more than half of all air cargo passing through Prague Airport.
The Skyport airside cargo handling facility was acquired by Singapore-headquartered Elite Logistics Fund in connection with the acquisition by Ventus and Sky Logistica.

“The last twelve months have proved the importance of air cargo infrastructure as a strategic component of global trade,” said Andy Popovich, Chief Executive Officer, Ventus.
“Investing in automated facilities and modern operations is the future of this industry and we are excited to work with our institutional capital partners to further invest in this asset class.
“Skyport has huge potential for growth and we are focused on optimizing the existing facilities and unlocking additional capacity by deploying technology to enhance operations.”
Ventus LLC is an infrastructure investment and asset management firm headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, US. Founded last year 2020, the company focuses on investing in air cargo and robotic industrial infrastructure mainly in Europe and North America.
Elite Logistics Fund, launched in January last year, targets investment opportunities in the EU and the UK’s logistics sector, driven by changing consumer trends and a booming e-commerce sector. Not much information is available about Sky Logistica, which was incorporated in January this year, in the holdings business.
The acquisition of the Prague cargo handler includes approximately 20,000 sqm of airside property, as well as Skyport’s air cargo handling operations at Prague Airport in the Czech Republic and Košice and Bratislava Airports, both in Slovakia. No details were provided in the value of the deal.
