Ground handler dnata Singapore has begun implementation of Hermes Logistics Technologies’s new generation ecosystem, also known as Hermes NG, at Changi Airport.
The scalable cloud service includes the Hermes 5 Cargo Management System (CMS) which will help manage all import, export, messaging, service monitoring, and accounting processes for the more than 6,000 tonnes of cargo each week that dnata Singapore handles at its 32,000-sqm facility in the city-state’s main airport.
The full suite, which also includes apps for business intelligence, data lakes, track and trace as well as self-serve apps and its own API, is expected to deliver streamlined workflows, better transparency, and improved data sharing for the supply chain, dnata noted.
The data gathered can also be used with artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to help decision making and optimise business and handling processes.

“After the successful upgrade and seeing the benefits of the same system across our operations in Australia, we are excited to implement this technology in Singapore,” said Dirk Goovaerts, regional chief executive for Asia Pacific at dnata.
“The Hermes 5 technology allows for improved oversight on a local and global level, supports enhanced customer engagement and service excellence, elevating data sharing with all our stakeholders in the air cargo ecosystem and provides enhanced transparency across the cargo handling process.”
HLT’s apps are pay-as-you-go and can run on any device. Some of the available apps include those for track and trace, customer service, slot booking and landside management.
