Hong Kong-based aircraft parts distribution and MRO services provider Topcast has appointed new directors for sales and legal with immediate effect.
Karen Koh (picture on the right) will be the new regional sales director for Asia, whilst Rachel Leung will join the group as legal and compliance director.
Based in Singapore, Koh will lead the Asia team to further propel the company’s market share in the region. Karen is a veteran of the aviation business with more than 12 years of professional industry experience. Before joining Topcast, Karen was the commercial director of Boeing Aviation Pacific Asia Services (BAPAS), spearheading the team to develop and implement commercial strategies to campaign execution of the fleet technical management (FTM) and inventory technical management (ITM) programme.
Prior to that, she spent five years as GE’s service sales director for its engine aftersales market. She started her aviation career with AAR on strategic sourcing and trading and subsequently developed her well-rounded sales capabilities at GECAS as an account manager.
Karen holds a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management from the Curtin University Technology in Perth, Australia. In addition, she earns a certificate in contract law, a diploma in logistics management and a green belt of Lean Six Sigma.
Meanwhile, leading the legal and compliance department is Rachel Leung. She will be tasked to provide legal advice to senior management, support global business functions, govern mergers and acquisitions activities and manage litigation and claims.
Prior to joining Topcast, Leung, who started her career in London, led the legal functions at Hong Kong Express, HKBN JOS, and Hong Kong Tourism Board.
Rachel is a dual-qualified lawyer in Hong Kong and the UK. She holds a business degree and subsequently studied law in London, specializing in aviation and corporate law.
Topcast has been busy as of late expanding its portfolio with new supplier partnerships. Last week the company extended a multiyear agreement with MarathonNorco Aerospace to distribute over 1,160 aircraft parts, ranging from nickel-cadmium vented batteries, sealed batteries, mechanical hold-open rods, receivers, latches and safety fittings.
It also extended its agreement with Conidia Bioscience, a maker of test kits to prevent ‘jet fuel fungus’ in aircraft, and is now an approved distributor of the product FUELSTAT Resinae Plus (FHR8-2 & HR2-011) for commercial aviation and supporting MRO organisations in Asia Pacific and the Americas.
