Bahrain-based private airline and MRO company Texel Air has launched the latest addition to its growing fleet with the arrival of its very first 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter.

The jet, with registration A9C-GWC (MSN 29985), underwent conversion at a Boeing MRO supplier facility, with further modifications at Texel Air’s hangar facility prior to transferring onto the Bahrain Aircraft Operators Certificate.
The airline did not reveal which MRO facility it was converted. Boeing in December announced an agreement with Chinese aircraft engineering and maintenance service provider STAECO to open two new lines for the conversion of Boeing 737-800BCF this year.
With the arrival of the B737-800BCF, the airline’s fleet now stands at four 737 freighters, including two flex combis. A second 737-800BCF is set to be inducted in May this year and delivered in September.
