Menzies Aviation last month secured three new contracts in Southeast Asia and Macau as the ground handling specialist looks to grow in the region.
The company secured a three-year contract with Indonesian cargo and regional passenger airline Rimbun Air where it expects to handle up to six daily cargo flights for the airline’s two 737-300F aircraft at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK).
The deal will add an additional 40 flights per week to Menzies’ ground services operations in Jakarta, significantly increasing the volume handled by the team.
Also at CGK, Menzies was selected by new Indonesian customer Raya Airways, starting with four weekly flights and growing.
At Macau International Airport (MFM), the company won a two-year contract with My Indo Airlines, providing freighter, ramp and cargo services to the airline.
The initial contract with My Indo will see Menzies handle an additional 2,000 tonnes of cargo per year. The win reflects Menzies’ long-standing relationship with the airport, where it has been operating since 2000.
Menzies said these contracts follow the appointment of James Wong, based in Singapore, as senior vice president for Southeast Asia and China. Meanwhile, Raymond Lo will be the managing director for the group’s joint venture business in Macau.
