Yusen Logistics (Deutschland) GmbH is expanding and has opened a new branch with a modern sustainable complex in Altbach with around 10,000 square metres of warehouse and office space.
The facility located east of Stuttgart will now become the new contract logistics site of Yusen Logistics as it looks to meet the demands of its customers, particularly those from the local automotive industry.
The complex has a large storage area, equipped with high racks, and the loading halls have truck passages for side loading and unloading as well as ground-level access roads.
The new warehouse and distribution centre is located near the federal road B10, a region that, as Yusen describes, is fast becoming an important logistics hub for the light industry.
Yusen Logistics said the region around Stuttgart holds a leading position throughout Europe in the automotive, electronics and information technology sectors as well as in the engineering industry, with many international enterprises setting up their headquarters
The 3PL service provider offers overland freight and parcel distribution as well as outsourced pre-production work, including sorting work, repacking into Euro containers (KLT boxes), cleaning of transmission parts before delivery and other picking work at its logistics site in Altbach.
The new contract logistics facility in Altbach is the eleventh branch of Yusen Logistics Germany nationwide and the fourth in the southern region of Germany.
Three other southern locations are in Bavaria, where a centre for distribution, domestic transport and customs clearance is, in Filderstadt near Stuttgart, where the air freight team operates, and in Schwaig near Munich, where Yusen Logistics handles air, sea and land freight.
The distribution centre in Altbach is part of Yusen Logistics’ contract logistics network, which consists of more than 355 warehouses covering an area of 2,626,481 square metres.
