Cainiao Network, the logistics arm of Alibaba, is beefing up its initiatives for Double 11 with additional air freight and logistics capacity for merchants exporting from China.
For this year’s shopping event, the company has secured 3,000 flights for exporters and will tap on its overseas distribution centers and warehouses in over 30 countries and regions to support pre-stocking needs and improve overall experience for Alibaba consumers, estimated at 1.3 billion.
Cainiao has announced six ‘logistics guarantees’ to support Chinese exports, including priority export warehouses, first-mile pick-up and smart order consolidation, expedited digital customs clearance, international line-haul network, overseas distribution centers and last-mile delivery.
Ahead of Double 11, Cainiao has reinforced its international logistics network and secured various freight routes spanning air, sea, rail and land to safeguard the stability of cross-border shipping. This encompasses over 3,000 flights and an expansion of its domestic warehouse network.
This year, Cainiao has also launched a dedicated air freight route to Singapore and Malaysia to support the export of Tmall fashion products manufactured in China.
In other parts of Southeast Asia, Cainiao has also partnered with Lazada to provide direct freight routes connecting eight key ports in China to Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Indonesia.
