Royal Brunei Airlines last week announced the appointment of Captain Sabirin Hj Abd Hamid as its new chief executive officer, effective 1 November 2022.
Captain Sabirin has been the acting CEO for the airline since 11 October 2021. Prior to the post, he held the chief operations post from January 2021.
He joined Royal Brunei in 1988 under the airline’s cadet pilot program before moving to London to work with AirUK. He returned to Brunei in 1992 as first officer on Royal Brunei’s B757/B767 fleet.
Captain Sabirin will now try to lead the carrier to new heights with its young and modern fleet, which includes 9 Airbus 320s and five Boeing 787s, according to Planespotters.
