French transport and logistics player GEODIS is steadily establishing its foothold in China and has achieved certifications and performance recognition from its main locations in the Chinese mainland.
In March, the company’s Shanghai headquarters was one of 20 that were certified as ‘regional headquarters of a multinational company’ by the local government. This status, the only one in the Jing’an district, will provide GEODIS local government assistance in terms of trade facilitation, talent introduction and service support.
Onno Boots, Regional President and CEO, Asia Pacific and Middle East, said this recognition will allow its customers to benefit from “the increased ease of doing business with us there.”
“A further advantage is GEODIS having authorised economic operator (AEO) status granted by the local Shanghai customs department, which certainly enables us to deliver a further expedited service to our customers, for contract logistics,” he explained.
GEODIS also celebrated the redevelopment of its Center of Excellence (CoE) in Shenzhen as part of a larger vision to attract top talent in the city. The Shenzhen facility, part of its supply chain optimization (SCO) line of business, will provide overall visibility from one centralized location for customers in the high tech, retail and healthcare sector.
In Henan province, GEODIS received an award for performance excellence from the Zhengzhou Airport Authority in 2022. The airport was utilized throughout the year to transport significant tonnages via its branded freighter operations at the Chinese airport.
