Kerry Logistics Network Limited has rolled out a sorting solution that resulted in 270 percent increase in overall productivity, the company claims.
The company has introduced the sorting robot ‘KOOLBee’ to enhance its e-commerce fulfilment service for a global fast fashion brand.
Requiring only a small area to operate, the robots have the advantage of being quickly deployed, reconfigured and scaled up, increasing the accessibility and flexibility of sortation automation compared with traditional fixed automation, Kerry Logistics noted.
“The fashion e-commerce industry is rapidly evolving and consumers’ expectations for fast deliveries are getting higher every year… It has proven beneficial in supporting customers in handling enormous orders during seasonal peaks and promotion-driven shopping sprees,” said Samuel Lau, managing director for integrated logistics, North Asia.
Kerry Logistics believes in the benefits of technological advances in enhancing productivity, increasing agility and adding value to customers’ global supply chains. KOOLBee is the latest rollout under the company’s ‘KOOL’ banner, which saw the introduction of KOOLBotic and KOOLBay in 2021.
The company said the rollout of sorting robots has taken place in phases across the logistics facilities in Hong Kong, Tianjin and Dongguan since November 2022. Following the launch, Kerry Logistics plans to utilise the technology for other verticals.
