GEODIS was presented the 2023 Best Service Award in China in recognition of the transport and logistics provider’s consistency in providing reliable air freight services for French-owned customer Schneider Electric.

Geodis said its success’ main criteria were a commitment to volumes by the service operators, along with securing sufficient airfreight capacity and meeting agreed transit times. To maintain reliable capacity and optimise costs for Schneider following the pandemic, the company designed a solution that combines its own-operated network AirDirect services with third-party commercial carriers.

Last year GEODIS won a 3-year contract from its long-time partner Schneider for airfreight services between France and China, after more than 8 months of negotiations.

Under the contract, the freight forwarder will provide cargo transport services from Schneider’s manufacturing facility in Evreux to Charles De Gaulle Airport to be airfreighted to China for distribution to domestic markets. It also covered goods moving in the opposite direction, from Shanghai and Beijing to Paris, with onward delivery to Schneider entities.

Geodis added that the award showcases its continued support of the client’s US factories with warehouse facilities near Schneider manufacturing sites. The two companies also signed a new agreement for customs brokerage services in Europe, starting in France.
