DHL Supply Chain has announced three new leadership appointments in Asia Pacific, starting with the promotion of Sivananthan Sukumaran (Siva), former managing director of Indonesia, to head of operations for Southeast Asia.
Siva joined DHL Supply Chain in 2014 as general manager of operations in Indonesia, where he later rose to the role of senior operation director for consumer and retail.
Taking over Siva’s post is Matthias Gehrsitz who will now head a diverse team of over 4,500 employees as managing director of Indonesia. He comes to DHL after an 11-year tenure at DB Schenker Malaysia where he held roles in project management, tender management, solution design, and operations before taking on a role as the national head of business development and commercial management.
Matthias will be in charge of overseeing the DHL Maheswara Green Logistics facility in West Java, which will increase the warehouse space in Indonesia by 10 percent with an additional 40,000 square meters.
In Taiwan, Louis Liao has rejoined DHL Supply Chain as the new managing director. Liao started his career as an assistant operations manager in the Service logistics unit at DHL in 2008 and moved his way to Japan to assume the role of senior manager for the technology sector, where he was instrumental in customer development and in the implementation of global IT projects for the Service Logistics unit.
Liao held several senior management roles with DHL Supply Chain until 2018 across different countries and functions, and before rejoining the company this year, he was the managing director of S.F. Express in Taiwan.
