Korean Air continues to promote the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in the air cargo industry as it signed a Sustainable Aviation Fuel Cooperation Program Agreement with Yusen Logistics at the latter’s Tokyo headquarters.
Yusen Logistics is the airline’s first cargo partner in Japan to join its SAF programme, and the two companies plan to join forces to promote usage within the Asian region in line with the industry’s climate change goals.
Korean Air said it is committed to cooperating with all relevant governments, clients and oil refinery companies to expedite the use of SAF and create an efficient domestic infrastructure in Korea. It launched its own SAF programme for air cargo operations in September 2023. Yusen Logistics started offering the SAF option for air cargo in April of the same year.
