Singapore Airlines (SIA) has attained the global recertification of the IATA CEIV Fresh, valid for three years, starting 1 February 2024.
The recertification validates SIA’s continuous efforts to meet the air freight industry’s highest standards for food safety and preventing food waste along the supply chain.
The flag carrier offers speed and reliability in handling and transporting time- and temperature-sensitive perishable cargo via its THRUFRESH service, which features dedicated cold chain services, including priority uplift and handling, quick ramp transfers and cold room facilities, as well as dry ice top-up at Changi Airport for transshipments.
Singapore Airlines became the first airline in Southeast Asia to receive the IATA CEIV Fresh certification in 2021, when it also established a so-called ‘quality’ corridor network for perishable cargo with terminal operators and ground handlers in Europe, India and Asia Pacific. It has stations in Amsterdam, Barcelona, Frankfurth, Ho Chi Minh, Hong Kong, Hyderabad, Singapore and Zurich.
The CEIV Fresh certification is based on IATA’s Perishable Cargo Regulations, which combine regulatory and operational inputs from government and industry experts. Singapore Airlines said it remains the only airline in the region with this certification.
