Stronger e-commerce demand and a growth in shipments ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday resulted to 19.7 percent year-on-year growth in cargo loads, according to the latest report from the Singapore Airlines Group.
Cargo loads outpaced the capacity injection of 13.8 percent from a year before with load factors up 2.7 percentage points higher at 54.5 percent.
As of end-January, Singapore Airlines’ cargo network comprised 126 destinations in 37 countries and territories.
In the passenger side, combined numbers for Scoot and SIA were 3.2 million passengers during the month, 23.1 percent higher than a year before. Group passenger load factor for the month came in at 85.3 percent, as capacity increased 16.5% percent from a year ago.
