The logistics company Militzer & Münch is strengthening its presence in Europe: M&M Militzer & Münch Belgique S.A. started operations on 27 January 2025. The new country unit is to support, in particular, the M&M traffics to the Maghreb countries.
The new M&M organization, a Militzer & Münch France subsidiary, will initially focus on building strong connections between the Benelux region and Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria. In a second step, groupage traffics to and from Turkey, Greece, Eastern Europe and Central Asia are to be developed, too.
M&M Militzer & Münch Belgique S.A. is headquartered in Mouscron in western Belgium, close to the French border. Cross docking, warehousing and all logistics services are handled at a second location in Oudenaarde, about 35 kilometers away. Managing Director is Teddy Vandevyvere, who comes with extensive experience in the logistics industry.
“We are pleased to announce the establishment of our new country unit in Belgium, which allows us to further strengthen our presence in Europe and to serve our customers from a local base in the future”, says Guillaume de Laage de Meux, Managing Director South West Europe / Maghreb and Member of the Militzer & Münch Board of Directors. “In line with our strategic growth plans, the new company will improve the connection between the Benelux region and the Maghreb countries and beyond.”
Economic power in the heart of Europe
Although Belgium has a population of only around 11.2 million, it is one of the 15 largest exporting nations in the world. Strategically located in the heart of the Benelux region and close to many major economic hubs, it is firmly integrated into the European Union’s trade network. Its most important trading partners are France, Germany and the Netherlands. The country also has one of the densest transportation networks in the world, and is particularly well connected to its European neighbors by rail. The large, modern sea ports of Antwerp, Zeebrugge and Ghent also make it an important transit country for imports and exports.
