For the third consecutive year, ANA HOLDINGS INC. received an ‘A List’ ranking for its environmental transparency and climate change leadership by CDP, a global environmental nonprofit organization. This distinction makes ANA HD the only airline group worldwide to receive this recognition.
“This third consecutive ‘A List’ ranking affirms that ANA Group’s ongoing leadership and commitment to climate action and transparency is being recognized by the public”, said ANA HD Chief Sustainability Officer Chikako Miyata. “As the only airline group globally to achieve this distinction, we will continue to pursue decarbonization and contribute to a carbon-neutral society.”
ANA HD’s ambitious and ongoing CO2 reduction initiatives, validated by the SBTi, align with the Paris Agreement’s goals for limited greenhouse gas emission targets.
To reduce CO2 emissions from aircraft operations, ANA HD, in cooperation with stakeholders, is focusing on operational improvements, introduction of fuel-efficient aircraft and efforts to utilize sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). ANA HD is also updating aging facilities and equipment while simultaneously purchasing electricity with non-fossil fuel certificates to lower ground facility emissions.
Additionally, ANA HD is conducting an experimental study related to airport vehicles. The study focuses on the use of renewable diesel as a low-carbon fuel and on the opportunity to reduce emissions by using electric vehicles.
ANA HD discloses these climate change initiatives and their financial impact on management in accordance with the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosure (TCFD).
