GA Telesis, a leading global provider of integrated aviation solutions, announces the appointment of a seasoned aviation professional to its GA Telesis Engine Services (“GATES”) division. Jussi Mononen, an accomplished executive with deep expertise in aircraft maintenance, production leadership, and operational strategy, will join the company as Vice President and General Manager of GATES, effective June 1, 2025. Mononen’s appointment marks a significant step in strengthening GATES’ growing presence in the global MRO landscape.
Bringing over 20 years of industrial and aerospace experience, Mononen most recently served as Head of Aircraft Maintenance at Finnair, where he oversaw Line Maintenance operations in Helsinki, Finland and across international outstations for both the Finnair and Norra fleets, including ATR, Embraer, Airbus A320 family, A330, and A350 aircraft. He has also overseen Line Maintenance production support functions and the airline’s Maintenance Control Center (“MCC”). Since August 2024, he held regulatory responsibility for Finnair’s EASA Part 145 maintenance organization and more recently led Finnair Technical Operations in an interim capacity.
“We are excited to welcome Jussi to the GATES leadership team,” said Gunnar M. Sigurfinnsson, President of GA Telesis Engine Services. “His operational experience, regulatory knowledge, and steady leadership through the rapidly evolving landscape of commercial aviation make him an excellent fit as we continue expanding our capabilities and services globally.”
Prior to his aviation career, Mononen spent 12 years at Metso, a global industrial company, where he held multiple leadership roles in flow control solutions. He led several production units, including four years as Factory Manager of a valve controller manufacturing facility, where he oversaw end-to-end supply chain operations and technology transfer projects.
“I am proud to join the world-class team at GA Telesis and contribute to GATES’ continued growth and operational excellence,” said Mononen. “The company’s innovative culture, customer focus, and unwavering commitment to quality align closely with my professional values, and I look forward to delivering exceptional value to our customers worldwide.”
