Cargo throughput at Hong Kong International Airport grew 10.5 per cent in August. Cargo volume reached 324,000 tonnes in August, up 10.5 percent on the same month last year.

It also represented the largest monthly increase this year. Passenger throughput grew to 4.42 million, up 8.2 per cent, due to robust departures and visitor numbers. Air traffi c movementsgrew 7.8 per cent to 25,580.

Airport Authority Chief Executive Offi cer Stanley Hui said: “Our cargo volumes have risen strongly over the past fi ve months, a trend we believe points to sustainable long-term growth. The airport remains well positioned to both contribute to and benefi t from the Mainland’s economic development.”
