Guards at the Second Air CargoComplex in Penang are now armedand have full police powers when onduty, Star Online reported.
This is part of the stepped up securitymeasures since the M$47 million(US$13.43 million) microchip robberylast November 20, said MalaysiaAirlines Cargo senior general managerJ.J. Ong.
He added that closed-circuit televisioncameras, which are Internet-based,have also been installed in strategicpoints around the complex so thatmonitoring can be done from anywherein the world.
Since the installation of the CCTVcameras many cases of theft and vandalismhad been resolved internally.
