Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) handled 8,612 tonnes of cargo in November 2015, a 1.7 per cent decline month-on-month and a 9.6 per cent increase year-on-year, according to figures issued by the Airport International Group (AIG). During the first 11 months of 2015, the airport handled 90,928 tonnes of cargo, a 6.7 per cent increase from the corresponding period in 2014.
QAIA, which is situated 35 kilometers south of the centre of Jordan’s capital, Amman, was established in 1983. Since November 2007, AIG has been the Jordanian company responsible for the rehabilitation, expansion and operation of the airport.
