The Boards of Directors of BDP International (BDP) and Unique Global Logistics (UGL) have announced the integration of UGL into BDP’s operations in a move which will strengthen BDP’s presence in India.
BDP is one of the world’s largest privately-owned transport and logistics companies with more than US$2.2 billion in revenue, 4,000 customers globally, and operations in more than 140 countries. UGL is one of the leading project logistics companies in India and is known for its depth of experience in integrated logistics for multinational clients in the oil and gas, wind energy and project sectors.
As a result of the integration, BDP’s customers will be supported by a team of more than 200 logistics professionals in India. The new organisation will continue to be led by the incumbent management team.
The integration with UGL will mean dedicated inbound and outbound logistics and customs clearance in every major international gateway, seaport and airport in India, delivering the speed and flexibility of service that BDP clients have come to expect.
Customers will also benefit from access to BDP’s industry leading technology such as the web-based BDPSmart Suite of shipping transaction/tracking management tools that reduce costs, increase supply chain visibility and improve the quality of international order execution.
Richard Bolte, chairman and CEO of BDP International said the integration of UGL into BDP’s existing India operations builds on the success the BDP has enjoyed in recent years. “BDP’s global customer base understands the enormous potential India offers, and they want a reliable logistics partner. That’s why BDP has combined its world-class systems and technology with the local expertise and knowledge of UGL. This new company will open up growth opportunities for BDP customers seeking to do business in India.”
