Pos Malaysia Bhd plans to invest as much as M$230 million to boost its efficiency and the bulk will be spent on a new mail processing centre.
Managing director and chief executive officer Datuk Ikmal Hijaz Hashim said Pos Malaysia, whose mail and parcel delivery services makes up about 70 percent of group revenue, will spend M$69 million to buy a building, sprawled over 10ha in Kuala Lumpur’s district of Shah Alam, from MT Picture Display (M) Sdn Bhd.
The building will house Pos Malaysia’s new National Mail Processing Centre (MPC) where an additional M$130 million will be invested for machines and another M$30 million will also be spent to upgrade and enhance its centre at Menara Daya Bumi, Kuala Lumpur.
