Sealed Air Corporation on 7 March celebrated the 15th anniversary of its Asia Pacific customer experience center (known as Packforum APAC) in China.
Located in the Shanghai Qingpu Industrial Park, Sealed Air’s facility has hosted events and conferences over the past 15 years.
The newly reinvented facility offers a retail showcase of advanced packaging solutions, a central kitchen for food service packaging, an innovation hall with integrated automated solutions, a learning zone for training and seminars, and a studio with live streaming capabilities.
It has an in-house lab that has been certified to test, design and supply packaging solutions that meet Amazon and ISTA (International Safe Transit Association) standards.
Packforum APAC is co-located in Qingpu with the company’s largest manufacturing plant in the region, which was also established in 2008. Sealed Air said it has been able to utilize its expertise to provide solutions for industries along the Yangtze River Delta region, including fresh food, e-commerce, logistics, industrial, medical and pharmaceuticals.
“Building on the legacy of our Qingpu presence and transforming it to a world-class facility is in line with our customer-first approach to bring market-centric packaging solutions that reduce waste, improve productivity, and unlock efficiencies,” said Alex Zhou, vice president for supply chain in Asia Pacific at Sealed Air.
“When we first established our Qingpu operations in China, it was the first-of-its-kind facility to support China’s packaging industry. Our manufacturing facility now exports to the global market,” he added.
China is one of four Packforum locations across the world. The other three are in Italy, Brazil, and the United States.
