Air cargo quality standards organization Cargo iQ is growing its representation in Latin America and has welcomed Avianca Cargo (Avianca) to its community effective immediately.
The airline plans to help its partners and suppliers adhere to international standards and practices to ensure efficiency in the overall supply chain.
Avianca will contribute to projects that look for ways to close data gaps and protect shipment quality, collaborating with other Cargo iQ members in the industry.
“Our main motivation for joining is that we share a common mission with Cargo iQ and that is the constant quest to apply common global standards and improve quality to promote a better global air cargo industry,” said Leonel Ortiz, Head of Cargo Development, Avianca Cargo.
“In an industry where reliability and visibility are critical factors, building these capabilities and being part of a recognized organization can make a difference in customer preference,” added Ortiz.
This month, Cargo iQ also welcome IT solutions provider Hitit as strategic associate member.
