Export volume was 134,138 tonnes for June a rise of 38.6 per cent year-on-year, while cumulative export tonnage for the first half of the year was 752,830 tonnes which surged by 46.4 per cent against the same period last year. Export volume to China, Europe and the US for the first half of the year recorded robust growth of 48.8, 45.7 and 45.5 per cent as the global economy continued to rebound from a low base in 2009. Import volume for June registered a 27.2 per cent increase on a year-on-year basis to 65,056 tonnes while cumulative import tonnage for the first half of the year was 366,204 tonnes, up 35.4 per cent against the same period.
HK’s AAT sees 50% cargo growth in H1 Asia Airfreight Terminal Co Ltd (AAT) announced that its tonnage throughput in June was 60,024 tonnes, recording a growth of 56 per cent compared with the same period last year while the first six months saw a total of 330,902 tonnes, up 51 per cent.
Export cargo registered 42,406 tonnes, a growth of 70 per cent when compared with the same month last year. Import cargo volume for June was 17,173 tonnes, up 33 per cent. Cumulative export tonnage for the first half year of 2010 was 233,596 tones, representing a 67 per cent year-on-year growth. Total import tonnage for first six months increased by 25 per cent compared against the same period last year, to 94,922 tonnes.
