A year after failing in its bid to buy London’s Gatwick Airport, Vancouver Airport Services said it reached an agreement with United Kingdom-based Peel Group to buy 65 per cent of Peel Airports Ltd. The group includes the John Lennon Airport, a major hub for European low-cost carriers easyJet and Ryanair, as well as the Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield and the Durham Tees Valley Airport.

The acquisition brings to 19 the number of airports in Vancouver Airport Services’ portfolio, ranging from Canadian Rockies International Airport in Cranbrook and the Greater Moncton International Airport in New Brunswick to Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica, and the Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport in Santiago, Chile.
