Inbound cargo for the period also surged by 87 per cent to 4,110 tonnes, with those from Taiwan taking a predominant share of 86 per cent. Transit cargo dropped by 43 per cent year-onyear to 1,629 tonnes. Commercial flight movements at the Macau International Airport fell by four per cent year-on-year to 8,956 in the first quarter of 2010.
MACAU: Macau’s cargo surges 60% in Q1
Macau’s air cargo exports grew significantly by 60 per cent year-on-year to 7,592 tonnes in the first quarter of 2010, according to the figures released by the city’s Statistics and Census Service (DSEC). The main destination of Macau’s cargo exports was Taiwan, which accounted for 71 per cent of the total figure.
