Maastricht Aachen Airport (MST) has appointed Dean Boljuncic to take the helm at the Dutch air freight hub’s newly launched sales department, a release dated 2 November stated.
As head of commercial development, the former Croatian Air Force pilot will drive the sustainable growth of the regional airport, with a focus on strategic partnerships with Dutch aviation shareholders, forwarders, and airlines.
Boljuncic, who graduated with a master’s degree in aeronautics, has held several roles with Croatia’s international Pula Airport, and was head of aviation development and partnerships at Eindhoven Airport.
He will be tasked with increasing cargo routes, capacity, and freight volumes at MST.
“My mission is to not only bolster the long-term economic sustainability of Maastricht, but also its environmental sustainability through the reduction of emissions and noise pollution,” said Boljuncic.
“Sustainability cannot be an afterthought – we must factor in environmental issues when making business decisions.”
As part of developing key relationships, Boljuncic will be supporting the launch of a regional cargo community supported by Air Cargo Netherlands.
